Sometimes you see things you didn’t know you wanted to see or so a very good friend said to me once and it really made me think. It’s that place where ignorance is bliss until an event highlights an essential experience was lacking.
You really don’t know what you don’t know!
Last weekend I did something I didn’t know I wanted to do! It was a Bucket List item that I didn’t know I had.
I Drove a Racing Car!
There are many things I have done in my life that wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for the amazing people I have met through my travels. I have driven a racing car, become a Guinness book of World Record holder (that was on my bucket list), paddle boarded in Vancouver, snow skied in Norway, sailed on the highest navigable lake in the world…Lake Titicaca and ridden my horse across the length and breadth of the family farm.
A charmed life
Some would say I’ve lead a charmed life, but I would say it is being open to the possibility that dreams come true as well as taking every opportunity that comes my way. This is almost more important, sometimes fear stops us, but I’m of the attitude I’ll try anything once.
There is nothing more exhilarating than the trepidation of preparing for a new experience; it is deliciously, spine tinglingly delightful. If you don’t know what I’m talking about then you really need to jump out of your comfort zone and do something you would never dream of doing.
Then you get to actually do it! The rush, the adrenaline! It’s one of those moments when you just have to be a quintessential “Woo Hoo Girl” (How I Met your Mother fans will understand!). There is nothing like the feeling of accomplishing something that pushed you to you limits.
I absolutely love that statement by Richard Branson. They were almost my exact words when the opportunity to drive that cute yellow racing car was presented to me.
So this Easter Long Weekend go out there and seize the day. Do something new that takes you outside your usual square! I dare you!
Then you’d better come back and tell me about it.
