30 Day Blog Challenge
The most important thing when building an online business is finding out where your ideal clients hang out and basically joining them.
The first step in doing this is defining your niche, the narrower the better.
It can be a daunting thought, there are all sorts of red flags that will go off in your head, but the truth is if you have a neatly defined niche, it will be much easier to identify your ideal client or raging enthusiast.
Know who they are and you’ll know where to find them
The next thing you need to do is get in touch and keep in touch with them. This is where building your list is important. Finding the places both online and in person to connect with your ideal client is required along with giving them a reason to join.
There needs to be a payoff for them to commit. It could be a free ebook or video series or the promise of insider information. Whatever it is, it has to get them excited.
You want them to be your best marketing tool as well as your product development research tank. If they love you, they will help you serve them better.
I have had a newsletter almost from the beginning, I have a Hello Bar opt in as well as numerous opportunities to opt in on pages throughout my website and yet I have a pretty dismal list!
It could be because I have been very haphazard about sending out my actual newsletter and I’m not really happy with the format or content. To be truly honest, the opt in training video freebie that I offer hasn’t been filmed yet!! I keep meaning to change it.
So here’s what I’m going to do to build my list:
- Decide on the exact format of my newsletter
- Create an enticing reason for you to join my newsletter
- Decide on the frequency and stick to it no matter what
- Schedule weekly status updates to join my newsletter on all my social media platforms
